About 1.5-2 miles down the Kalalau trail is Hanakapi’ai Falls. it’s a great hike and a beautiful beach! (Not good for swimming though). But bring lots of water and some snacks.

There are a lot of waterfalls on Kauai, you should pick up a guide book and see what sounds good to you. I love the Wizard Publication’s blue books on the Hawaiian Islands (The Ultimate Kauai Guidebook):

The Kalalau Trail goes along the Na Pali Coast and is a beautiful hike. I advise hiking the first 2 miles into Hanakapiai Beach and back, at least. This is a pretty challenging hike. From there you can hike another 2 miles in to Hanakapaia Valley to the waterfalls. So, it total, we’re talking 8 miles of fairly strenous hiking to see the waterfall or 4 miles not seeing the waterfall. Either way, you need to bring plenty of water and food for energy. You’ll also need mosquito repellant and good hiking shoes. If you have a hiking pole, that would be useful too as parts of the trail can be slippery.

Another good hike that includes a waterfall is the Canyon trail that offers tremendous views of Waimea Canyon and takes you to Waipoo Falls.
